Ying Choon Wu

Ying Wu is a cognitive neuroscientist at UC San Diego. She studies brain systems mediating aspects of higher order cognition, including insight, multi-modal discourse comprehension, and math problem solving. She is also at the forefront of innovative new portable and wearable MoBI technologies that allow researchers to record and synchronize multi-modal biosignals as participants engage in real-world activities in natural settings. Wu earned her Ph. D. in Cognitive Science at UC San Diego. She obtained an M. A. in Applied Linguistics from UCLA and a B.A. in Literature at Reed College. She has also lead a number of STEAM-based community art projects and is a published poet and recipient of a fellowship from the Oregon Institute of Literary Arts.
