Deputy Director, Blaffer Art Museum
James Rosengren is deputy director of Blaffer Art Museum at the University of Houston. His undergraduate and graduate work includes fine arts photography, and filmmaking and film theory. He holds an MBA from Eastern Washington University. Rosengren is responsible for museum administration and directs the museum’s campus-wide Innovation Series of cross disciplinary programs in S.T.E.A.M. Most recently, he has organized steering committees comprised of scores of university faculty and community experts that have explored such topics as artists’ styles and ocular diseases, parallels between art historical observation and clinical diagnosis, and views of Alzheimer’s disease from pharmacology to engineering to French political theory. He is currently developing networks of subject experts to explore concepts of visualization and consciousness to premiere January, 2017.
