Tim Mullen is founding CEO of neurotechnology company Qusp and research director of Qusp Labs. He has a background in computer science and cognitive & computational neurosciences from UC Berkeley (BAs) and UC San Diego (MS, PhD). His research interests include neuronal system identification, mobile/pervasive neuroimaging, and BC(M)Is. He also moonlights as a new media artist leveraging neurotechnology to explore relationships between music, art, and the human brain. His collaborative work has been seen at (among others) the Whitney Museum of American Art, SxSW, NIME, the San Diego Museum of Art, the Filmatic Festival, In Tones: O/R/T/I, Sonic Diasporas Festival, and Mozart & the Mind. He is founding Creative Director of Mainly Mozart’s “Mozart & the Mind” festival exploring the impact of music on our brains, health, and lives.
