Monica Lopez Gonzalez
Dr. Mónica López-González is a multilingual speaking Cognitive Scientist, Educator, Entrepreneur, Multidisciplinary Artist, Public Speaker, and Writer with a PhD in Cognitive Science from Johns Hopkins University and a Certificate of Art in Photography from Maryland Institute College of Art. Fascinated by the cognitive relationships between creative artistic, emotional, musical, and linguistic behavior, Dr. López-González merges methods and data from the Sciences and Arts as both Scientist and Artist. She is the co-founder of La Petite Noiseuse Productions, a company at the forefront of innovative Science-Art integration pushing the boundaries of empirical experimentation, artistic storytelling, and public engagement. Staunchly advocating for multidisciplinary and multicultural learning, Dr. López-González has pioneered since 2009 a range of S.T.E.A.M. courses at the intersection of the visual and performing arts and the mind/brain sciences from precollege to postgraduate levels as faculty at Maryland Institute College of Art, Peabody Institute, and Johns Hopkins University.
