Shane A. Esola
PhD Candidate, Department of Mechanical Engineering, Drexel University
Shane attended the University of Miami in 2007 majoring in Mechanical Engineering with a minor in Civil Engineering and Architecture; Carnegie Mellon University where he studied thermomechanical modeling of the additive manufacturing process using finite element simulation. After his MS, Mr. Esola began his civil service career testing body armor for the U.S. Army at Aberdeen Test Center. Since 2012, as a PhD student, Shane is conducting research in waves in solids; signal processing; nondestructive inspection; damage indicators; and novel sensing networks. Mr. Esola hopes to combine his experience in nondestructive testing, signal processing and mechanical design to develop novel sensing techniques with future applications in mobile brain/body imaging.
