Rebecca Barnstaple is a researcher/practitioner in Dance/Movement therapy, having completed training at the National Centre for Dance Therapy in Montreal. A graduate of York University's unique interdisciplinary program, specialising in Dance, Neuroscience, and Philosophy, her research interests include movement, cognition, imagination, theoretical frameworks for Dance Therapy, and the development of hybrid research methods bridging sciences and the humanities. Her creative practice involves the use of dance in reading landscape and articulating narratives for restoration; she practices dance therapy in a community health centre for the relief of chronic pain. Rebecca’s PhD (Dance, York University) investigates dance for health programs at cultural institutions internationally and associated research protocols, methods, and results.
